In the past several decades, a great deal of FDI flowed into developingcountries. So, influence caused by a great amount of FDI flowed into developingcountry has attracted extensive attention of domestic and international scholars.China is one of those countries attracted huge amount of FDI, at the same time, itsGINI coefficient has exceeded the international standard warning line due to itscontinuously rising in the passing decades, the urban and rural residents’ incomegap also has expanded. Because of the phenomenon, we need think that whetherthe introduction of FDI led to the expanding. If there is correlation between them,is it positive or negative correlation? Is the correlation apparent?In this thesis, we cited the urban-rural income gap that measuring the gap ofresidents’ income gap as the dependent variable, and did the empirical analysisbased on the panel data of the past ten years. The result showed that FDI narrowedthe gap of the urban and rural residents.The whole thesis includes seven parts. First part is the introduction, whichdelivered the background and significance of the research, introduced theapproach, innovation and structure of the thesis. Second part is the literaturereview, which introduced the domestic and international research status in detailed.The third and fourth parts are the theoretical foundation of whole research, whichintroduced the condition of FDI and residents’ income distribution at this point,and did theoretical analysis. The fifth part is the core of this thesis, which didempirical analysis. The sixth prat provided the policy recommendations. Theseventh part is the conclusion and outlook.
