This paper based on the theory of the top tier, to the listed company as the researchobject, this paper discusses the influence of demographic traits of top management team oncorporate diversity in decision-making. Top echelon theory said, the enterprise of the topmanagement team demographic background characteristics influence enterprisediversification strategy choice, executive team of the population statistics features on theenterprise diversification strategy selection effect by the rights of the size, which topmanagement team in enterprise strategic pressure when their desire, view the extent of thesize. This article through research to the previous,the chairman of the main with a topmanagement team is the deal with the external environment of the uncertainty of capacity forcomparative,to study the top management team background characteristics and the size of theright to enterprise multiple choices what did influence?For researching the above question, this paper by using of China’s2008-2010listedcompanies manufacturing valid data, through the linear regression analysis method, theinspection team executives and its right to background characteristics and the relationshipbetween the enterprise diversification, through the study, we found that the executiveeducation background, team term and the diversification of enterprise have a positiverelationship between the degree, when the education background of the executives team arehigher than the chairman’s, or the chairman have a longer term to the influence ofdiversification strategy will be more; Have financial, management of the background of theteam executives tend to enterprise diversification. When the executive team and the chairmanhave a different professional experience, It will be more significant influence ondiversification; when the executive team age became more big, they will try to obstacle theenterprise diversification. when executive team’s age bigger than the chairman’s. The effectfor diversified will be greater.
