The problem of food safety has been the focus of social development, and food qualityhave more or less problems as a result of some food enterprise pursue the rapid growth. Withthe development of the economy, the increase of people,s income, the food securityrequirements are further improved, but the results do not do so, the impact of environmentalpollution, the lack of production technology have led to the problem of food safety. As a resultof green food is a kind of safety, health, nutrition pollution free characteristics of the product,so the green food will still be the main stream in the development of food products, but alsothe important way to solve the problem of food safety. Green food development mainlydepends on the consumer demand, therefore, to expand the green food market to stimulateconsumer demand for green.Xinjiang serves as western area, with the development of green food is richly endowedby conditions and resources. But green food development is the key to the needs of the market,as a result of demand of urban residents in Xinjiang, do they want to consume the green food?How about their cognitive on green food? And so on, This is the study of the key problems tobe solved.This article take the Xinjiang political, economic center of the city of Urumqi as a surveyof the site, through the questionnaire and measurement methods of urban residents ofXinjiang we can get the green food consumption characteristics and the main factors ofinfluence the purchasing behavior. Through the empirical study of Xinjiang as the westernregion, the consumer have cognition of green foods, enterprises and government shouldstrengthen the propaganda of green food, so that more consumers know green food. Thedifferent characteristics of individual consumers, their buying behavior differences, and greenvalues and awareness of green food, the characteristics of green food and the governmentpromotion on consumer’s are most remarkable influent, but the enterprise’s marketingactivities will be further promoted, at the same time the government as the main promoters,should assist green food enterprises to strengthen food quality and manage informationdissemination.
