Study On Urbanization Promotion Strategies Of Xiuzhou District Of Jiaxing

With the development of industrialization and modernization, urbanizationcame into being and grows with the rapid economic and social advancement. J.Stiglitz, the Nobel Prize Winner of Economics in2001, claims that urbanizationis one of the three challenges that China faces in the new era. He points out thaturbanization will be likely to lead the regional economic development and bringthe region significant economic benefits.The development of the modern cities indicates that urbanization greatlycount on the public management policies of a city, especially the policies topromote urbanization. On account of China’s social structure, urbanization inChina is promoted under the public policies laid down by Chinese government.Hence research on policies of urbanization as well as on how to improve andsytematize them might greatly enhance the process of urbanization bymaintaining a sound direction, and it’s of great significance to advance theeconomic and social development of China.Xiuzhou District of Jiaxing is located in the core of Yangtze Delta, one ofthe most developed regions in China, represents the rapid development ofurbanization in China. Meanwhile, Xiuzhou District of Jiaxing balances bestbetween urban and rural development, featuring general urbanization in Chinawhile having its own characteristics in Urbanization. Due to the objective andsubjective factors as well as some policy barriers, urbanization in XiuzhouDistrict of Jiaxing comparatively lags behind, which might have been arestriction of its economic development and its integrated strength. Combined theexperiences in urbanization home and abroad with the reality of XiuzhouDistrict elaborated in the fourth chapter, the fifth chapter of the thesis tries tofigure out concrete measures Xiuzhou District of Jiaxing is recommended toadopt, involving how to lead the development of urbanization, optimize theresources allocation, speed up the regional comprehensive development,strengthen the industrial support to urbanization, and raise the level of urbanmanagement, and the like. Finally, the six chapters concludes the research of thewhole thesis and meanwhile attempts to offer guidance of related research in thefuture.
