With the development in information technology, especially telecommunications and Internet exploded in the twenty-first century, more and more research and development (R&D) department in multinational has been implemented internationalization strategy. In the context of multinational R&D, communication between R&D team is extremely important during project development, project progress will be accelerated if communication tools are effectively used, otherwise the project progress will be slow down or even lead to project failure.Traditional means of communication are face to face, telephone conference, email and so on. In past two years the rapid development of instant message technology brings new communication method to the project, with the strong request of staff, recently R&D Center of Shanghai Bell Co., Ltd. puts instant message tool (MOC) as one of the mandatory tools to be used and promote it in cross-border development projects.The thesis studies the process that Shanghai Bell Co., Ltd. communication tool used in cross-border development and the problem encountered. The theoretical model is established based on researches before. Through questionnaires, the thesis tries to conduct statistical analysis from users attempt to acceptance and use instant message tool. In this study, a total of 51 valid questionnaires were collected, and SPSS 17.0 software is used to compile and analyze the survey data, project analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis, descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, independent samples T-test, single-factor analysis of variance independent samples and other methods are taken the to test the hypotheses. From performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, interesting and facilitating conditions to analyze the impact of Shanghai Bell Co., Ltd. instant message user acceptance and use in behavioral intention and actual use.The study gets following conclusions:(1) Performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and interesting are very important to the behavioral intention of R&D staff to use instant message tool (MOC), effort expectancy and social influence are two factors in particular. The more R&D staff thinks instant message tool is useful, the stronger level of behavioral intention, the higher frequency to actually use the instant message tool.(2) MOC as a communication tool has slight defect in task review area in cross-border development, E-mail interaction can be used to mitigate this defect.(3) Different title and nationality have a significant effect of MOC acceptance and use. Differentiated programs should promote during the implementation.(4) Different individual characteristics of R&D people causes different MOC use intention group, these groups have different intention to use the MOC. Therefore, depending on the intention of the group the different promotion strategy should be adopted.Based on the above findings, the thesis defines the strategies of Shanghai Bell Co., Ltd. MOC promotion strategy for project development whole process and recommends the specific instant message tools for total solution.
