Tourism planning is a vital way for tourism development. And community participation and residents’perceptions are internal part for a sustainable tourism.A historic street as a case, this paper examined residents’perceptions with a tourism planning. Empirical study from Zhongshan Road indicates that:1 Residents’perceived economic benefits from tourism has a significant positive influence on their support for tourism.2 Residents’perceived cultural benefits from tourism has a significant positive influence on their support for tourism.3 Residents’perceived social costs from tourism has a significant negative influence on their support for tourism.4 Residents’perceived cultural costs from tourism has a significant negative influence on their support for tourism.5 Residents’perceived social benefits or environmental benefits does not exert a significant relationship with their support for tourism.Generally speaking, Zhongshan Road residents are satisfied with the tourism planning which had been put into practice. They are optimistic with the future development of community tourism. However, referring to the tourism planning, the majority of the residents are tend to be in favor of a traditional preserve-based manner of tourism exploration. They expect Zhongshan Road to be a block of convenience daily life for community residents.Comparisons are made with a relevant pre-research. And evaluation or comments are also made on the tourism planning. Suggestions are then given for the future researches or practices.
