Since the1960s, with the global economic development, economic integration,significantly accelerate the process of economic globalization. World trade patternscorresponding changes in the international trade and the distribution of benefitscorresponding changes in the various economies to participate in internationaldivision of labor in the form of a corresponding change. Thus developed into theinternational trade industry trade between the situation of inter-industry trade andintra-industry trade coexist. Automotive industry as atypical example of intra-industrytrade, the industrial chain of increasing globalization, from product development,investment, production, procurement, management, sales and after-sale all aspects ofthe growing internationalization. Increasing with the level of technology developmentand international exchange, established economic powers such as higher and higherdegree of trade within the United States, Europe, Japan automotive industry, whichnot only promotes the development of automobile industry in its own to promote theireconomic development. China has joined the WTO, more and more close to theChinese economy and the world economic integration, to take this opportunity ofChina’s automobile industry has also ushered in a rare development opportunity. Withour own resources to establish a global scale, competitive auto industry, in partnershipwith major companies has been based on the international automobile trade toparticipate in global competition. The study therefore trade within the Chineseautomotive industry, not only of great significance for China’s import and export tradebusiness development and increasing foreign trade income, and optimize the industrialstructure has a practical significance to improve the international competitiveness ofChina’s automobile industry. In this paper, draw on the basis of the results of trade theory and research withinthe relevant industries at home and abroad, combined with the specific circumstancesof the trade in the Chinese automobile industry, the use of qualitative analysis andquantitative analysis method of combining trade situation in recent years, China’s autoindustry analysis. Product differentiation, economies of scale and international directinvestment in the three caused the main causes of trade within the industry of theChinese automotive industry were analyzed to investigate the causes and the problemsof the status quo of the development of intra-industry trade, the formulation of astrategy of industrial development a theoretical basis. Finally, the development ofChina’s auto industry trade policy recommendations:(1) Improve the per capita incomes, reduce and the developed countries of theper capita income differences.(2) Pay attention to the difference of the product, improve product technologycontent also want to pay attention to market development.(3) Improve China’s auto production enterprise scale economic level and can bethrough the market competition to realize the automobile industry organizationadjustment and auto production enterprise asset reorganization, the government in theappropriate range to take policy tilt of the way the key support or support large keyauto enterprise.(4) Improve China’s automobile industry the efficiency in the use of foreigncapital level, pay great attention to speed up the technology import, the cultivation ofthe car companies’ independent development and innovation ability.In this paper, began to study the status and influencing factors of China’s autoindustry, trade and the development of the finishing industry trade trends and theessence of the theory, the use of intra-industry trade theory, analysis of trade patternsin the Chinese automotive industry within the industry, the use of the most commonlyused is optimal(GL index) combined with the Chinese automotive industry data to calculate the automotive industry trade index to measure the level of intra-industrytrade models in the automotive industry. Analysis method, using a combination oftheoretical analysis and empirical analysis of intra-industry trade of China’sautomobile industry analysis, the various models within the industry type of trade andtrade patterns within the industry of the Chinese automotive industry. Basic factorsthat can affect the industry trade, the use of the principle of comparative advantage toexplain the import and export situation of China’s automobile industry. And theresulting conclusions, analysis of affecting factors of China’s auto industry leveldifferentiated products and vertically differentiated products industry trade,intra-industry trade for China’s auto industry development, improve the corecompetitiveness of industries, adjusting industrial structure to provide a theoreticalbasis.
