The Strategic Study On The Green Development Of Aluminum Corporation Of China Limited Lanzhou Branch

There is no doubt that the development of modern enterprises promotes the global economic rapid development, brings the growth of material wealth and improves the people’s living standards. However, while enterprises grew strongly and maximized benefits, they often sacrificed the resources and the environment and thus caused a series of environmental problem. Nowadays, the environmental pollution becomes more and more heavy. The capacity of environment drops sharply, and all of these even threats humanity’s survival and development. For modern enterprise, especially for those companies which have the characteristic of high consuming energy and heavy emitting pollution, if they always insist extensive-mode’s development constantly, it would make them to the end finally. Therefore, in order to fulfill the sustainable development, the firms must deal with the relationship between economic development and environmental protection correctly, seek a green developing road and then formulate green development strategy of enterprise themselves.At present, with the popularity of the green tide and the importance of the green economy, the traditional aluminum industry has a production type of "three high and one low", that is high investment, high consuming energy, high pollution and low efficiency. Obviously, such kind of production type already has not conformed to the requirement of economic development in a new period. As a result, in order to stand in an international market perpetually, it is urgent for modern enterprises to formulate a correct development strategy, strengthen their core competitiveness and carry forward "a green transformation".To begin with, from the current situation and exiting problems of Aluminum Corporation of China Limited Lanzhou Branch, this paper used some analysis tools and methods, such as PESTEL Analysis, Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model, and the like, to analyze and study the external environment, the industry status quo, and the internal condition Lanzhou Branch faced, and then to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of Lanzhou Branch as well as the opportunity and challenge of implementing strategic transformation. Next, according to the comprehensive analysis of strategic environment of Lanzhou Branch, this dissertation formulated the green development strategy of Lanzhou Branch. After defined its basic ideas, principles, main contents and strategic objectives,"three stages" of Lanzhou Branch’s green development strategy are refined:the Preliminary Implementation Phase, the Overall Implementation Phase and the Extension Phase. The study constructed related different strategic measures in each phase as well, like ISO14001Management System, Clean Production, and from Green to Gold, etc. Finally, based on these different strategic measures, the article put forward several points to guarantee the implementation of green development strategy of Lanzhou Branch effectively. I hope that the suggestions and conclusions of this study could help Lanzhou Branch’s development in the future, and also could provide some beneficial reference value for other similar enterprises. Meanwhile, for those modern corporations which want to seek and explore the sustainable development, the result can provide some extent reference.
