Community serves as the major component constituting the human society structure and system. One can identify the needs of the ages as well as the overall tendency of history through the development of communities. Especially, the variation stages of a national community pattern make it possible to reflect the course and constraints during the society growth from another perspective, and therefore appears to be a crucial witness of urbanization, modernization and globalization. Since the concern towards the modern society community from sociology, one of the themes, throughout the discussion, suggests that communities, as the local collective entity in human living, will finally get declined and terminated inevitably. This contributes to the very reason why an increasing number of experts and scholars are now trying to explore a new path for community development in a different way. And that is the circumstance in which the concept of "disembeded community" is proposed.Tourism, as a prior industry in developing a national local economy, has been playing a vital role in Lijiang Naxi’s regional economy for the time being. However, it should be pointed out that the side effects of the tourism leads to the replacement in the population composition of the old city. Does this physical isolation means the total loss of connection between the Naxi and the old city community? As a matter of fact. the regional isolation of the people in the old city community comes in the form of housing rental instead of losing connection. In other words, the Naxi is still continuously affecting the region’s development and integration in of form of a disembeded community.This article starts from the phenomenon of the changes in Dayan’s community pattern, utilizes the multiple methods of paradoxical analysis, field investigation, historical analysis in order to explore the mechanism and values of the disembeded community. The primary conclusion is:with the growth in tourism economy, the disembeded community in the Naxi enjoys its historical inevitability and relative rationality. The pattern switch, from a local collective one to a disembeded community, is essentially another form of the Naxi’s self-protection and self-highlight. It can efficiently improve the Naxi’s status of dominance, by means of change from a "strong tie" to "weak tie" to construct social capital, community integration through the link of national culture to stimulate the Naxi’s awareness in nation’s protection.Part one, attaching to the thread of historical development, describes the trajectories of change in the Naxi’s economical life from the Chieftain’s moving of capital to Lijiang at the transfer between Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty, to the early stage of nineteen 90’s. It is exactly the commercial civilization built based on farming culture, rising together with the Tea-Horse Road that brings up the traditional community pattern which takes the Naxi’s culture as the main body. The community, constructed by such a "strong tie", cultivated a natural, leisure and steady social relation and pace of life in the Naxi.Part two based on the changes in Dayan’s community pattern, explores the running mechanism in disembeded community. Research shows, the growth in tourism is built by a cooperative union between the local administration, foreign business guests and few local elites, but maintained by the local cultural advantage of the Naxi, and is therefore unsustainable due to the marginalization of the importance of the Naxi. When the residential functionality of the old city decreases, in addition to the residence’s feels it unwilling to keep up with leisure and steady living romance given by the traditional community, the residence now facing the risk of death in gradual marginalization, they tend to enhance their collective property by building up new social capital based on traditional cultural resources, and use that as the condition in basic right.Part three analyzes the values disembeded community in detail, by considering three aspects, livelihood practical significance, the rising of national awareness and the protection upon national culture. It is pointed out that the physical isolation will not only leads to the weaken in national culture, but also gradually notify the Naxi of the interest consistency between the fate of their nation as well as the development of the community by running the mechanism parallel to that of the market, and therefore, advocates the people, as the carrier of their culture, to take a common and consistent actions so as to preserve their own profit to protect their own culture.
