Since world war II, regional economic integration of developing countries have experienced ups and downs for more than half a century, and entered the stage of vigorous development to the mid1980s. As of December2010, there are484organization of regional economic integration had reported to the WTO,the developing countries of regional economic integration has accounted for two-thirds of the total, the quantity and the scale had obtained rapid development. But reviewed its evolution, it is not difficult to find that, the region economic integration between developing countries generally are in low development level, and the performance of economic and trade is not outstanding, and even some members has exited for as expected. Under this contradiction, the developing countries must clearly understand their own characteristics and advantages, to reflect on the lessons of failure in the integration process, to examine our own participation in regional integration constraints, through the development of appropriate and reasonable strategy to encounter difficulties and challenges, how to regional economic integration among developing countries develop better is one question with far-reaching implications for the world economy. it is worth to study the new trends and characteristics, and to propose new perspectives to explore the coping strategies.under the above background, this article has taken literature research, case analysis, comparative analysis and other methods to comb through the literature on existing among developing countries, data, and has reviewed three stage of regional economic integration among developing countries since World War II, and has analysed each stage of development and the reasons. Later, the article has sorted out the development trend, such as rapidly, various, crossed, more widely, mutual help.The article focuses on the basic characteristics and the challenges of the regional economic integration between developing countries. On the one hand, by combining the specific case of the north-north integration and the south-north integration and its characteristics of summary, and by comparing to the case and characteristic of the south-south integration, the article analyzed the basic characteristics of developing countries in the region economic integration:low level of integration; Rapid development of FTA; Cooperation method more openness and tolerance; Mutual help; Continuous expansion. On the other hand, Through to the developing countries currently participating in regional economic integration between the situation out organize, the article has analysed the current challenges, such as identical industrial structure, imperfect political system, Uneven distribution of interests, weak economic foundation, and so on. Based on this, some strategies has put forward:Create complementary competition; Build reasonable cooperation system to coordinate internal policy; Strengthen their own economic development and connect the cooperation and communication channels; Pay attention to many radical operation to coordinate internal disputes; Learn from the successful example to set up effective interest compensation; Coordinate the domestic contradictions to cope with external forces challenge; Set up the exclusive agency to strengthen global range of coordination.
