Since2002, the debate on the RMB exchange rate between China and the UnitedStates began to heat up, in2003, reached a fevered pitch. The then U.S. PresidentGeorge W. Bush, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, Treasury SecretaryJohn Snow, including many government officials have publicly expressed hope thatChina will implement a floating exchange rate regime, and to revalue its currency.RMB exchange rate belongs to the sectors of the economy, and at the same time bythe combined effect of the political, economic, cultural and other factors, but now theproblems are too high extent it has been politicized.The paper examines the causes of the Sino-US exchange rate dispute, as well as theways and channels of the United States put pressure on the RMB."China should takewhat the exchange rate regime, the three core issues of whether RMB should appreciateas well as the impact of RMB appreciation on China-US bilateral economic" to make adiscourse, and from interest groups, interdependence, monetary power three a perspectiveon the nature of the Sino-US exchange rate dispute further study.Proposed to face the growing Sino-US exchange rate dispute, on the one hand,China should be in a timely manner on the RMB exchange rate system reform to meetits development needs; the other hand, China should strengthen the strategic andeconomic dialogue mechanism with the United States to increase and the cooperationof the relevant interest groups in the United States, actively seeking a consensus in theinternational multilateral mechanism.
