A Study Of Land-lost Farmers’ Employment In The Urbanization Of Jiangxi Province

With the advancement of urbanization in Jiangxi province, more and more farmers are land-lost. How to deal with the unemployment of land-lost farmers with no adequate insurance and compensation has became a great concern. Many researchers have studied such problems as employment security policy for land-lost farmers, further socialization of land-lost farmers and effective skills training for land-lost farmers. However, there has been no specific study on the employment of land-lost farmers of Jiangxi Province.Thus, based on the theory of urbanization and employment, the present living and employment condition of Jiangxi land-lost farmers under the impact of urbanization are studied. By questionnaire survey and analysis of the distribution, living and employment condition of land-lost farmers in Jiangxi province, the factors that influence the employment of land-lost farmers are discussed and an index system of evaluation is proposed. Finally, some suggestions drew from empirical study and the proposed evaluation system are put forward to ease the strains of land-lost farmers’ employment.In this thesis, nonlinear regression and production function are adopted in the analysis of land-lost farmer’s economic contribution. Finding that the land-lost farmers in Jiangxi who have made favorable economic contribution are in unfavorable living and employment condition, the thesis aims to find out how to safeguard the jobs of land-lost farmers and ease their pressure of to-be-employed. Moreover, by analytic hierarchy process, qualitative and quantitative analyses of both objective and subjective factors influencing their employment are carried out and has met the consistency check, which is an innovative point of this thesis.The conclusions of the thesis are as follows:land-lost farmers in Jiangxi province are in bad living and employment condition, and the influencing factors are complicated; by analytic hierarchy process, the relationships among influencing factors are drew; under the background of promoting harmonious development in both urban and rural areas, to strengthen the establishment and perfection of social security system for land-lost farmers, to widen the channel of obtaining employment information, to unblock the talent market channel and to strengthen skills training for land-lost farmers should be combined and cooperated to ensure the full employment of land-lost farmers.
