Rural resident as a large social groups, their living conditions have been cause for concern. With the promoting of reform process, rural resident’s material life is getting richer and their income level is somewhat higher, social concerns of rural residents living has been transferred from material life to spiritual life. Thus, study on well-being of rural residents is becoming necessary. Henan Province as an undeveloped area in central region of China, agricultural population is numerous. So take the rural residents in Henan Province as the research object has the very strong representative. Meanwhile, considering the reliability of data and the implementation of convenience to survey team, choosing my hometown-Ruzhou City as the survey sample. In this paper, the author has studied systematically on well-being of rural residents, using statistical method of reliability and validity analysis, descriptive analysis, and correlation analysis etc.This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter introduces research background, purpose and significance, research framework and methods, and a brief description of innovations and deficiencies; In the second chapter, the author discusses the happiness ethics origin and happiness research on Economics; In the third chapter, the author generalizes the relevant theories about SWB; The fourth chapter contains the questionnaire design and variable selection, as well as the reliability and validity of the questionnaire analysis; In the fifth chapter, the author first to describe the characteristics of the survey sample, and then examine the "income-Happiness Paradox" in rural residents of Ruzhou city in existence or not, and analyze income variables and subjective well-being related degree, and analyze factors of affecting rural residents in subject well-being; In the sixth chapter, the author summarizes the research conclusion of this paper and puts forward some policy suggestions on the basis of the actual situation of the rural residents in Ruzhou city, and forecasts the next research direction. This research obtained the following conclusions. First, income and subjective well-being have significant positive correlation, income can explain the subjective well-being of more than70%, namely "income-Happiness Paradox" in Ruzhou City rural residents do not exist, and the impact of absolute income on subjective well-being is more significant than relative income. Second, the effect of the system and various factors on SWB, the dominant system and factors, such as economic, material system and factors impact on the subjective well-being are strong,and the role of health, transportation and communication etc. on subjective well-being is gradually emerged, other recessive factors that effect on SWB are relatively weak.
