With the rapid development of the market economy, many enterprises have to face fierce competition. In order to obtain considerable growth advantage, more and more enterprises have joined the wave of information construction. Information systems have become indispensable management tools in the daily operations. But there is a big problem that whether these systems can bring tangible benefits after lots of cost. As the traditional technology economic theory cannot solve the performance evaluation of implemented information system. This article attempts to find a better way to evaluate the effect of information system after the implementation.On the basis of the research about information system evaluation, this article describes the issue form three aspects. First of all, collect and analyze the previous performance evaluation index system, then extract an index system which has three dimensions containing the direct economic benefits, indirect economic benefits and social benefits. Second, this article proposes a performance evaluation model based on the Evidence Theory. It mainly introduces the working principle of the Evidence Theory and the detail evaluation steps. Meanwhile compare the common performance evaluation methods with the Evidence Theory, and analyze their deficiencies on the specific applications. At last, choose the actual information system application as the background and describes how to use the Evidence Theory to evaluate the effect of the information system. Then compare the evaluation results with the situation of the enterprise. It verifies the validity of the evaluation method in a certain extent. Although the evaluation system and evaluation method mentioned in the text can solve the problem of performance evaluation, there are still some shortcomings. Therefore, after summary the main research work, this article puts forward the future study direction.
