Shanghai Historic District Tourism Development Model Research

Historic district is the epitome of a city’s historical development andthe most important cultural heritage of it. Developing tourism industry inthe city historic district can revive its vitality and inject driving force intoits sustainable. Taking the twelve historic districts as the object of study,through literature review and field survey, this paper studies thebackground of the historic districts, tourism development, tourismdevelopment mode and future development trends and other issues.This study is to perfect the theory of tourism development in Historicdistrict and provides guidance and help for the development of thehistorical districts in Shanghai or other cities. First of all, the thesis reviewsthe formation history background and the cultural connotation of thehistorical district of Shanghai, the formation of Shanghai historical districtalong the change of the concession; the cultural structure analysis fromthe architectural culture, art culture and way of life. Then the thesisintroduces the preservation process of Shanghai historical districts andbuildings, the general situation, formation and the outstanding historicalbuildings of Shanghai historical and cultural area. Then the paperintroduces the distribution and extent, type and characteristics of theresources and the value of historical Shanghai historical district.Secondly, the thesis analysis the tourism development of twelve piecesof historic districts of Shanghai, including the significance of tourismdevelopment, the internal and external factors of the tourismdevelopment from the strategic opportunity, advantage,disadvantage and challenges, the present situation and existingproblems of tourism development. All the above can provide supportfor historical district tourism development. Thirdly, on the basis ofprevious research results, combined with field survey to obtain first-handinformation, the thesis sums up the tourism development modes of Shanghai historical districts, which includes the development form andthe development subject. Then, the existing tourism developmentmodes of the historical district in Shanghai were evaluated. Finally, thetourism development mode selection method of the historical district isput forward, including step-by-step method, progressive method andadvancing with the times method. Also, factors impacting the tourismdevelopment modes are analyzed, which includes tourism forms andtrends, the digital era and the development subject role change. In theend, the study puts forward the future trend of Shanghai historicaldistricts tourism development mode and the development moderecommendation.
