SMEs are an important component of China economy, it plays an important andpositive role in economic structure, employment, tax revenues and social stability. Thecurrent level of performance of SMEs in China is generally low, many small andmedium enterprises in the face of great opportunity and great challenge but can notgrasp opportunities, drops the challenges, at last,they collapse. The performance ofLarge and medium-sized is directly related to the level of management and operation,based on this, SME senior management team has put forward higher requirements.The paper have a research on the relationship of top management teamheterogeneity of SMEs and resource, and acquisition capacity of its influence on firmperformance, based on senior management echelons theory, heterogeneity theory andresources concept knowledge to a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysisway to small and medium enterprises in Henan Province, around the top managementteam heterogeneity, resource acquisition capability and firm performance between themain line gradually, through the top echelons theory, resource theory and the conceptof the theoretical study of the heterogeneity construct the relevant models andequations, and the method of stepwise regression studies, and ultimately have a resultof their qualitative and quantitative relationship.The main contents are as follows:After literature review and theoretical research on SMEs senior managementteam heterogeneity, the concept of access to resources are classified and defined,according to the actual situation of SMEs as an example the final to start small andmedium enterprises in Henan Province TMT heterogeneity, resource Get Competencyand Performance An Empirical Study. The results of previous research by scholarsand discussed the summary, analysis of the top management team heterogeneity,resource characteristics and status of view, as well as the direction and focus ofprevious studies, the theoretical basis and model for the building foundation.Based on previous research, build senior management team heterogeneity ofSMEs, resource acquisition capability and firm performance model, identified by fiveindicators-age, TMT heterogeneity, TMT educational background heterogeneity,TMT background heterogeneity, TMT tenure heterogeneity and resource acquisitionability to measure organizational performance of SMEs.Model building, data collection and sorting, using professional software SPSSfor analysis, the top management team heterogeneity of SMEs, resource acquisition capability and business performance and the correlation between the degree ofcorrelation, the regression equation.According to data obtained and the equations to determine the top managementteam heterogeneity and firm performance, resources, capabilities and businessperformance for the interaction between small and medium enterprises are given therecommendations of executive team building.Innovation of this paper is based on SME senior management team as theresearch object of TMT heterogeneity and firm performance relationship betweenthem through empirical research to determine the relationship between the qualitativeand quantitative.Inadequacies of this article is to select small and medium enterprises for thesurvey in Henan Province on the general characteristics of SMEs in the country togeneralize, due to environmental, cultural, demographic, economic development, andmany other factors, may be different for each region, with representatives level haslimitations.
