Recently, the deteriorating rural environment in China has seriously jeopardizedthe production and life of rural residents, seriously affected the living standards ofrural residents and improving the quality of their life,therefore, they can not fullyenjoy the fruits of socio-economic development, and hinder the further development ofthe rural economy.With the “Two-Oriented” society model has been suggested, theconcept of resource conservation and environment protection has gradually beenrooted in our heart. The choice of rural environmental governance is an important issuein environmental protection.This paper describes the path of rural environmental governance on the generaltheory, followed by a comprehensive analysis of our current route of ruralenvironmental governance, and the two paths are compared, In China’s process ofconstructing “Two-Oriented” villages, villagers in some rural areas have explored apath of self-governmenting environment, and has achieved good results. For example,Jin Tong village of Liuyang city in Hunan province changed from a polluted village toan eco-village,On the basis of theory of self-government, I have made some acuteanalysis of this typical example, generally from the following three dimensions: theproducing of the system of environmental self-government,the performing of thesystem of environmental self-government and the sustainable development of it. Thenthe United Kingdom and South Korea’s rural environmental governance measures arecited. In the end, some meaningful experiences has been concluded. And finally cometo the conclusion: Self-government under the guidance of Government is a valid pathto choose in the rural area’s environment’s governance. And summed up a number ofmeasures to solid and promote the self-government path: cultivating healthyself-government attitudes and organizations,;improving the rural environmentalfinancing mechanisms; establishing effective self-government decision-makingmechanism; constructing rural environmental self-supervision mechanism.
