The cross-strait electronic information industrial cooperation occupies an importantposition in the cross-strait economic and trade cooperation. After30years’ tortuousdevelopment, the sign of cross-strait economic framework agreement, the breakout ofinternational financial crisis and the KMT returned to power, these critical events all givenew opportunities to the cross-strait electronic information industrial cooperation. In the newsituation, how to guarantee the continued, stable and health development of the cooperationof the cross-strait electronic information industry is an important issue. Therefore, it existsgreat practical significance to enhance the study on the cooperation of the cross-straitelectronic information industrial. In this paper, based on the theory and research of intra-industry trade and the impactfactors in intra-industry trade of domestic and foreign scholars, we analyze the tradecooperation of cross-strait electronic information industrial. we measure the dominantcompetitive index, the intra-industry trade index, the type of specific intra-industry tradeand conclude the following conclusion: the relationship between cross-strait electronicinformation industry change from complementary to competitive and complementary; theform of trade change from initial inter-industry trade to intra-industry trade; the form ofintra-industry trade is vertical intra-industry trade. By empirical analysis on the impactfactors of cross-strait electronic information industry trade, we find that the level of verticalintra-industry trade of cross-strait electronic information industry, the Taiwan investment onthe electronics and information industry investment in the mainland and the per capita GDPdifference between two sides have a long-term stable equilibrium relationship. Taiwanese’investments in the electronic information industry of the mainland have a significant positiveeffect on the level of cross-strait vertical intra-industry trade in the short-term and long-term.Further, the Granger causality test results show that the Taiwanese investment in mainland’selectronic information industry, as well as the differences of per capita GDP between thecross-strait trade of electronic information products have a promote role in cross-straitelectronic information intra-industry trade. In addition, based on the industry life cycle theory and location choice theory of foreigndirect investment, we analyze the cross-strait electronic and information industry investmentcooperation. Through the theoretical and empirical analysis on location factors of Taiwaneseinvestment on the electronic information industry, we find the prefer factors and the regionalcharacteristic of the cross-strait electronic and information industry investment cooperation. And we conclude that Taiwanese enterprises value market and agglomeration factors, theability of attracting Taiwan capacity of Bohai Rim region and western region are graduallyenhanced. In the future, Taiwan enterprises will place more important on R&D, Bohai Rimregion and Yangtze River Delta region which have a rich talent pool will abstract Taiwaninvestment more. Mainland enterprises investment in Taiwan’s electronic informationindustry is in its infancy and have low ineffective due to various constraints.Electronic information industrial division of labor is based on cross-strait electronicinformation industry investment and trade. The form of electronic information industrialdivision of labor changes with the investment and trade, and turns vertical division of labor tohorizontal division of labor. Finally, with the combination of status and opportunities fordevelopment, we look ahead of the future of electronic information industrial division oflabor and give suggestions of cross-strait electronic information industrial cooperation.
