After the global crisis in2008, the macro-prudential supervision was widespread concerned by the governments, international organizations, experts and scholars. It has become an international consensus to strengthen the macro-prudential supervision, while strengthening the micro-prudential supervision.This paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter I introduces the background and significance, the relevant literature review and the structure and main ideas. The second chapter is the theoretical analysis, by comparison with the micro-prudential supervision, the goal, characteristics; subject, object, system and the necessity of macro-prudential supervision are also analyzed. Through a comparative analysis of the Basel III, U.S., EU, British and German practice, Chapter III sums up the common trends and characteristics of macro-prudential supervision in the post-crisis era. Chapters IV and V are the empirical analysis of China, including the problems and challenges, and the policy recommendations of perfecting the macro-prudential framework.The main contribution of this paper is to systematically analyze the theoretical knowledge on the macro-prudential supervision, sum up to the main trends of macro-prudential supervision in the major countries of the world and analyze the main challenges and problems in China. This paper put forward the policy recommendations from eight aspects, which include legal norms, regulatory system, relationship between micro-and macro-prudential supervision, the relationship between innovation and regulation, the macroeconomic environment, international coordination, consumer protection, professional quality, etc.
