The Empirical Study Of The Differences In Economic Growth And Convergence Trend In The Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone

The difference of regional economic growth helps to increase competition in the region, which is the driving force of regional economic development and it will lead to a fast, efficient and economic development of the region as a whole. Regional economic growth gap should not be too large, because once the gap among the region’s economic growth achieve a certain degree, on the one hand will lead vicious competition in all areas, on the other hand it is important for various social contradictions, which will not only affect overall economic growth, but also impede the progress of society. Attaches great importance to economic development of western countries, in order to narrow the economic development gap, in2000, the State proposes the development of the western. In2007, Sichuan and Chongqing provinces signed the agreement of the build-Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone.In2011by the State Council, the principle of executive meeting through the Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone is approved, and the building up of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone become the national level. It will become a growth pole of economic growth in the western region. Can Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone have the ability to achieve sustained, rapid and healthy, coordination development, we should think deeply about the following questions: What is the reason for the difference in economic growth among all areas. What are differences in economic growth before and after the establishment of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone. Whether there is convergence trend. What are impact factors of convergence and where is convergence path. This paper will answer above question in this context.In this context, we adapt2003-2010Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone of the city and county data to research economic growth and convergence of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone. The way of analysis based on statistical indicators and convergence of research methods to study the differences in changes of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone economic growth and the convergence of the situation.Firstly, we use single indicator method including standard deviation, coefficient of variation to analyze the difference in status of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone economic growth. The differences in absolute indicators, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone in the study period of economic growth is getting larger, but from a relatively indicators,2003-2010Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone in the overall economic growth differences narrowed, but the2007-2010Chengdu-Chongqing Economic relative differences showed a trend of expansion, then this text use of their coefficient decomposition of this difference, in order to clear constitute a difference in status of the demonstration of economic growth, as well as the source of the difference, the analysis found that the administrative divisions from the point of view, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone in the internal differences is a major contributor to overall differences in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone. To consider from the perspective of economic regionalization, Chengdu Economic Zone differences is the greatest contribution economic zone, Chongqing economic zone of one hour internal economic disparities contribution is small. The above study is from a dynamic perspective to consider. To consider from a static view, we use principal component analysis to study, the overall economic differences in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone in2009. It found that the overall score front of the cities of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone area, after the overall score ranking is far from the core city of Chengdu, Chongqing, Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone edge of the county, mainly in the northeastern Sichuan.Then, the convergence analysis methods be used to test three types convergence of economic growth of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone status, and econometric models analyze the convergence factors of the economic growth of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone, the overall study shows that "Chengyu" Economy Zone as a whole in2003-2010period time exist the occurrence of s-convergence and the absolute β-convergence, but the Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone in2007-2010years don’t exist the occurrence of s-convergence and the absolute B-convergence. The paper selects six areas indicators of the convergence analysis as a single steady-state factor conditions, at the same time it is a conditional convergence of a single steady-state factor, urbanization, institutional and physical capital obviously all pass the test the convergence of regional economic growth, urbanization rate variable speed of conditional convergence variable coefficient is largest among the three, which also shows the process of urbanization for the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone convergence of economic growth. Factors of labor, industrial structure, human capital did not pass the test, this is because the labor factor index measures from the perspective of labor force participation rate that do not consider the quality of labor and other reasons, the industrial structure, human capital indicators chosen may not be a good measure of its Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone economic growth convergence.Finally, this paper gives the strategic suggestions on basis of above analysis.This study reflects the following three point features:First:Viewing from the object of study and research unit, the economic growth of convergence uses the provincial units of East, west converge research more, but at the county level unit as the literature few differences and convergence of economic growth of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone is a blank, this paper. study the economic growth and convergence of the121counties unit of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic Zone.Second:From the research methods, a variety of research methods combining multi-level three-dimensional analysis. To sort out the relevant literature, the existing differences in economic growth and convergence are generally have two ways to describe the statistical methods and econometric analysis; single indicator method generally be used in the study of economic growth differences. This study is different in economic growth study that it has not only the individual indicators, but also has joined the composite indicator analysis, from various angles, a more comprehensive reflection of the economic growth of regional differences in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone.Third:the effect of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone integration of economic development has a more comprehensive study to investigate the establishment of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone, the change of the trend of economic growth of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone before and after it is established, as well as the integration of the establishment impact of convergence on economic growth and convergence of economic growth influencing factors, it can be said for a more comprehensive study.
