Hunan national regions are in the most remote and poor areas. Located in core areaof Wuling Shan, Zhangjiajie is a later-developed place where Tujia live. For long theeconomic growth in Zhangjiajie relys on investment. Therefore,the key to sustainabledevelopment on minority areas is keeping the accordence of investment andconsumption,improving the contribution of consumption to economic growth,realizingthe “double driving” coordination of consumption and investment.For promoting abetter and faster economic development on minority areas,it is the very importantmeasure that enhance the consumption’spromoting effect to economic growth.This study takes zhangjiajie in Hunan province as an example, research on therelationship between consumer behavior and economic growth in ethnic areas. Reformand opening up to more than thirty years, rapid economic development in zhangjiajie,local residents consumption ability are growing rapidly, the overall size of theconsumption is constantly increasing, the engel’s coefficient is steady reduction, theconsumption structure becomes more reasonable,developed and enjoyed consumptionhave risen.However there still exists some problems such as the final consumption ratedeclined year by year, health care, housing and education consumption ratio is still takeup a large proportion.This paper historical inspects on the change of consumer behavior inZhangjiajie,empirical analysizes the relation between the consumer behavior andeconomic growth,inspects the strong relevance among the economic growth,disposableincome and finance income by measurement model,and put forward the targetedsuggestion that develop dual-drived economy by investment and consumption in ethnicareas.
