| In2008, the economic crisis caused by U.S. subprime mortgage crisis sweptthe globe. During this period, the anti-recession performance released byService Trade has once again drawn attentions from the whole world. Topromote the competitiveness of trade in services once again become the topimportant task for governments. Fujian, as one of the earliest open provinces,facing the opportunities and challenges of both “12thFive-Year Plan†and the“West Coast Economic Zone Construction Planâ€, now need to resolve the task:How to improve the competitiveness of service trade in Fujian.Firstly, this article adopts a horizontal comparative analysis on the scaleand structure of service industry and service trade, between Fujian Provinceand the national average. Then it adopts a longitudinal comparative analysison the dynamic development of the service industry and service trade in thenear decade. The analysis result says that, developments of service industryand service trade in Fujian Province are both below national average level.Secondly, the author uses Trade Competitiveness Index and ComparativeAdvantage Index to find out the comparative advantages and comparativedisadvantages of Fujian service trade. And then, the author adopts PrincipalComponent Analysis to all23influencing factors of Fujian Service TradeCompetitiveness Model. We gain a Principal Component from this step. Next,the author applies Regression Analysis to the Principal Component and ExportValue of Service Trade in Fujian Province. This time, we get a RegressionEquation, which passed both Fit Test and Significance Test.According to the weight of each explanatory variable in the regressionequation, we know how the factors construct to Competitiveness of FujianService Trade. Based on empirical analysis results, after comprehensive study,the author put forward the suggestions on “How to Improve theCompetitiveness of Service Trade in Fujian Provinceâ€. |
