Service trade has been strengthened in the flow of the development of the world's economy, and plays an important role in international trade, which now becomes a key index to measure the developmental level of a country or district. Therefore, in some degree, competitiveness of service trade also stands for the competitiveness of the country or district. Analysis on the competitiveness of service trade will help to make the policy recommendations, and it holds profound theoretical and practical value to the process of service trade. With the analysis of the current development, main characters and the trend of Guangdong service trade, we make policy recommendations to help the fast development of Guangdong in the economic environment of Pearl River Delta, and to accomplish the development objectives in the Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta.Studies on service trade of Guangdong are comparatively less than others, which can't cohere with the fast development of service trade in the world, as the competitiveness of it is the important indicator of the competitiveness of the nation or district. Guangdong is the developed province in China, but less developed in the international stage, which contains the less developed new services, lack of knowledge-intensive products and so on. There are many impact factors: import and export volume of goods, the development of service industry, labor force quality, FDI, the opening of service trade market, etc. According to the special factors of Guangdong, we add the industrial factors and also opportunities of the Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta. As for the empirical analysis, we do the component analysis of 7 evaluation indexes of 8 provinces and cities and get the main indicators--- import and export volume of goods, the opening of service trade market, quality of laborers, FDI, GDP etc. and get the competitiveness of Guangdong among all the eight provinces and cities. Due to these main indicators, we find that the competition of Guangdong is comparatively lower than Hongkong, Beijing and Shanghai, but it still on the top of China. At last it comes out with the macroeconomic and microeconomic policies raised by the problems of service trade in Guangdong.
