China’s securities market developed from the small emerging market to the one ofthe world’s biggest financial market in just20years. In our country, the securitiesindustry is the fastest growing industries in the last ten years. Customer manager asthe first image facing the public, is the orienter who could lead ordinary investorsunderstanding and learning the securities. Customer manager’s quality and ability isthe key of the enterprise business and enhance the strength.How to find and select the outstanding securities industry customer manager is theissue concern of many companies. This paper according to the literature analysis, thework analysis method, the key event interview method and the theme of the materialfor analysis, and put forward the securities industry customer manager competencymodel. And through the questionnaire survey to collect the data modeling a SEM,through the SPSS18.0and Lisrel8.7software to inspect the SEM’s reliability andvalidity, demographic variables T test, thus prove the effectiveness of the model. Thisstudy tell us, the competency contains four dimensions: professional knowledge andthe skill, management ability, social ability and personality traits, and24feature ofcompetence, such as: language ability, consciousness of service, industry experience,team leadership, self-confidence and achievement, etc. And through to analysis thegender, education background and work experience as the variables of population,found that women in social skills on customer manager is stronger than male;employees who worked long time can play the role of leader in the team.This research results can be used for the securities industry customer manager’srecruitment and selection, training and development, performance management,compensation management, career planning etc human resources management andprovide the reference and basis.
