Nowadays, tourism industry is playing an increasingly important role in shaping thecountry’s economic development,the leading position of the travel agencies is also importantin this period. However, the recognition of tourism is not high enough to promote tourismdevelopment. At the same time, with the impact of exchange rate rises,(inter-Korean/north-south) deteriorated relations and global economic crisis, travel agenciesare facing great difficulties. From analysis on specific market, first of all, the market entrypermit is simple making easy the entry of new companies; second, the strong competitivenessdue to the spurt development of travel agencies; third, obsessed by short-term results, largenumber of travel agencies depending on advertising lost their competitiveness; fourth, thenorth-south tensions and the world economic crisis led to a stagnant development, nationaleconomy regression and outbound tourism reduce.However, in the future, the travel agency is a great space for development. By12.2010base tourism statistics are generally travel1233,4922domestic travel industry, home andabroad the travel industry6429, overall12584. In January,1,1911after the brigade industryopen for public, in order to enhance the travel industry’s international competitiveness,promote the development of travel agency, improving travel agency operating environment,improve the service quality of travel agency credit recovery, the government specifically putforward tourism manpower education program. Similarly in China before2000, the tourismindustry is only a relevant industry in economic development. But after2000, Chinesetourism industry reach the turning point, and become the important industry in the centralgovernment. At the same time, this is also reflected in the establishment of environmental,health and traffic industry development plan also increased tourism and related servicedefinition.In this study, large-scale growth of China’s tourism industry and Korean tourism industryare the main research object. Through comparative analysis and through micro andmacroecomic environment analysis, this report reviews the developing process of travelagencies and the government policy’s influence on its development, then with Chinese Wuxiholiday travel agency (CITS) and Korean Gwangju MAIL travel agency as case study, used4P theory analysis model to discuss the development of travel agencies in these countries,finally, proposed some measures and recommendations that could help the development oftravel agencies in the future.
