The Research About Suifenhe City-Russia’s Economic And Trade Development

Both China and Russia are the two of largest Economic power in the world, which haveinherent geographical advantage. Their economic and trade cooperation has a long history.The Chinese economy develop rapidly after the reform and opening up, while Russia’seconomy after Putin took office progress steadily. Therefore, bilateral economic and tradecooperation has become the focus of the two countries’ economic development.The SuifenheCity, through the development of trade with Russia, has become the largest land trade port ofChina to the Sea of Japan. The city has a unique regional advantage in the development oftrade and the Chinese strong policy support. Also its status in the Sino-Russian trade is moreand more prominent and the rapid development of Suifenhe will have been continuing.However, after the world financial crisis erupted in2008, the momentum of development byboth sides is under attack, so this paper, based on the new economic geography andinternational trade theory, analyses the trade development status Suifenhe City to Russia inorder to try to find a best choice for mutual development.Chapter I describes the research related to the theory, including geo-economic theories,new economic geography theory and the theory of international trade; The Chapter II byreviewing the history of Sino-Russian national-level economic and trade, researches theSuifenhe trade with Russia to provide an environment background; Chapter III analyzes theSuifenhe urban conditions and the Suifenhe trade with Russia Current Situation (includingtrade volume, the commodity structure, trade size and trade patterns) to do some qualitativeand quantitative research and summarize the factors that influence its development. ChapterIV finds the problems and proposes countermeasures and suggestions to these problems, andpredicts the Suifenhe trade with Russia’s future development trends.
