With the development of the High Voltage Direct Current Transmission (HVDC) technology in our country, the reliability of HVDC is more and more important due to its bulk capacity. The problems are pointed out based on the present HVDC reliability evaluation management analysis.The reliability management is extended to system planning and design, material procurement and infrastructure stage by applying’ Life Cycle Asset Management’(LCAM) concept,so the failure can be avoidable or can be easily fixed.The reliability index factors set is established by the analysis of the impact factors of reliability, Index weights are determined by expert scoring method.at the same time, On the basis of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation theory the reliability model for HVDC system is established, The model is proved to be effective after the calculation and analysis, at the end, some measures to improve reliability of HVDC system are put forward.
