How to implement BPR effectively in China becomes the issue of concern in the company’s management.Business Process Reengineering (BPR) concerns the fundamental rethinking and radical redesign of purchasing process in A.R.E.N.A. Therefore BPR was introduced in retail business tremendously with the objective of high working efficiency.This thesis is an example of Global DIY Retail Alliance-A.R.E.N.A. Shanghai Sourcing Center. The first introduces the background and development of the A.R.E.N.A. group, and analyses the global sourcing strategy, organization structure and operational process. Then focused into the complex and special sourcing process in Shanghai Sourcing Center in Greater China region, exemplified the problems in the traditional sourcing process, citing the mainly operational problems between sourcing and quality team and other problems during supplier chain, which brings the idea and method of BPR in order to redesign new and more suitable sourcing process, improve the corporate culture, enhance the working efficiency as well as to achieve the strategic objectives of the company.A.R.E.N.A. group made a new design of Purchasing Process Reengineering. clarified the job responsibilities under the new purchasing process, improved product development schedule, set up the selection process for new suppliers and E-sourcing process. Practice has proved that the scientific and advanced purchasing process is an important manifestation of market competitiveness in the Global DIY Retail Alliance. Furthermore, A.R.E.N.A. Shanghai Sourcing Center need to advance with the times, constantly improve and update the Purchasing Process Reengineering in order to adapt to the different periods of the operating environment.
