Statistical Analysis On China’s Foreign Exchange Reserve

Since the managerial system institutions of foreign exchange and foreign trade have beeninnovated in1994,foreign exchange reserve increases continuously and its scale breaks thehistorical record every year. Even if the international crisis breaks out in2008,foreignexchange reserve of China still earns trend of great growth. By2011,foreign exchange ofChina have reached3181billion dollars．With the continuous accumulation of foreignexchange, people all works of life pay much attention to it increasingly．Currently，foreignexchange reserve has become people’s focus point of concern. Facing with so large scale offoreign exchange reserve, worry cannot be avoided. Scholars have researched many issuesabout foreign exchange reserve. This paper is established in critically researching the relativeliterature and tries to study the foreign exchange reserve from the view angle of statistics torealize three objectives．Firstly，this paper hopes people reading this paper can understand theforeign exchange reserve comprehensively and systematically．Secondly，this paper attemptsto bring up the creative viewpoints in relative areas to enrich the study areas which is notstudied previously．Thirdly，this paper wants to use statistical analysis method to find theproblems existed in the foreign exchange reserve．What’s more，some suggestions will begiven．And these suggestions will guide directions to formulate the measures relative withforeign exchange reserve.Based on the above analyses，this paper makes use of the latest sample data and historicalinternational balance sheets from1994to2011to study the foreign exchange reserve fromstatistical viewpoint angle．Firstly，based on data supplied by international balance sheet andforeign exchange reserve， this paper introduces the descriptive statistical variables toformulate the current situation and causes of formation of foreign exchangereserve．Secondly，after formulating the current situation and causes of formation，this paperanalyzes the influencing factors of the foreign exchange reserve theoretically．And on thebasis of theoretical analysis and the realistic situation of China，relative factors are opted asthe independent variables．Then the empirical analysis on the influencing factors of theforeign exchange reserve can be done．In detail，this paper uses sample data from1994to2011and statistical analysis software of SPSS16.0and Eviews6.0.And this paper makes use of correlation analysis, factor analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and VEC model todo the empirical study on the influencing factors of the foreign exchange reserve．Thirdly，based on the statistical analysis of the influencing factors of the foreign exchange reserve，thispaper uses method of comprehensive evaluation based on factor analysis to evaluate theforeign exchange reserve comprehensively from the view angle of the influencing factors ofthe foreign exchange reserve rather than from the numerical angle．Fourthly, this paperanalyzes the problems of the foreign exchange reserve．At last，this paper brings up severalmeasures and suggestions on the basis of statistical analysis.
