A Study On The Impact Of Farmers’ Science And Technology Education On The Farmers’ Income

Agricultural development, rural prosperity, farmers’prosperity is the key of construction of a harmonious socialist society, and also is the objective requirements of the new socialist countryside construction. To construct the socialist new countryside, there is an urgent need to develop a new type of farmers who "have culture, and understand technology and management". To cultivate the new type of farmers, and improve their scientific quality is key in promoting agricultural modernization, transferring rural surplus labor force, and increasing the income of farmers. Jiangxi is a big agricultural province, in which more than60%of the population are peasants. To accomplish the transformation from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture and improve farmers’ employability, the task of farmers’science and technology education is very heavy.This paper is written based on an analysis of the present situation for domestic and abroad farmers’science and technology education and their main successfully experiences. Then by considering the relationship between farmers’science and technology education and their income, and using the empirical method, the qualitative and quantitative analysis, the literature analysis, we analyzed nearly1000farmers’questionnaires. Combining farmers’ cultural quality and the change of their income, and the data’s from our survey, we come to a conclusion that the present problems existing in farmers’science and technology education of Jiangxi Province are:farmers’quality is not high in overall; government management and supervision and evaluation system are defective; the education implementing subject is imperfect.Considering the existing problems, we come to the proposal of implementing effective farmers’science and technology education in rural areas. In order to promote farmers’ farmers’income growth, in the following aspects of the work must be done for the problems:first, increase publicity efforts to help farmers update their concepts, to help raise the overall quality of the peasants farmers, and use incentives to increase farmers’enthusiasm for science and technology education for farmers; second, is necessary to improve the management protection mechanism of the farmers’ farmers’ science and technology education, and create a learning atmosphere;, third, perfect farmers’science and technology education teaching system to build a new system of farmers’science and technology education.
