In domestic auto industry, most researches focus on the analysis of the whole process of research and development, and there is few on the control of project timing schedule of auto parts. which is far from enough compared with the other elements in auto industry such as cost, quality, etc. However, faced with the increasingly fierce competition in domestic automobile market, all suppliers begin to realize that time is market share and time is money, so they begin to put great emphasis on project timing schedule control. As a result, project timing schedule control has become one of the most important work in the whole project management.Based on this background, this paper aims to find solutions to the problems of project scheduling delay through analyzing the cause of project scheduling delay in D company’s and researching the countermeasures. and furthermore, verifies the availability of improvement approach by means of implementing specific project.Firstly, this paper, from the perspective of project management, attempts to find out the reason why project scheduling is delayed through analyzing management status of project planning and control in D company. The reasons are as follows:the project scheduling control ability is insufficient:supplier management is out of control, machine capacity is not enough, technical force is weak, project team is loose and quality control has not come into its own.Secondly, based on the analysis of the reasons above, this paper intends to improve the project scheduling management in D company through enhancing project scheduling control ability, energizing supplier management, optimizing machine capacity and improving technical capability, strengthening the construction of project team, and upgrading quality management.Finally, this paper, after finding out solutions to project scheduling delay in D company, verifies the validity of adapted solutions by applying them to practical project cases.The author hopes that the research conducted in the present paper would not only offer insights into the study of project schedule delay in D company, but also provide some important reference value about the improvement of project schedule management to the other companies in this industry.
