Development And Characteristics Of Sino-Kazakh Trade And Economic Relations

Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the relationship between China and Kazakhstan as the part of former Soviet Union has experienced tortuous processes. There was not only cooperation and exchange, but also was contradictive confrontation between two countries. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, on December16,1991the Republic of Kazakhstan declared its independence. On January3,1992the People’s Republic of China and Kazakhstan formed diplomatic relations. For more than20years, since the establishment of diplomatic relations, under the joint efforts of both sides, the Sino-Kazakh relations have been sustaining steady development. The two countries have formed a remarkable economic and trade cooperation.This article, by using statistical datas and materials of two countries, from the historical point of view, discusses the development process of trade and economic cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the last20years; analyzes the main features of the bilateral economic and trade relations; deeply discusses the influence of the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union to the related countries, especially to the Sino-Kazakh trade and economic relations. This article, from the establishment till the comprehensive development, describes the whole process of the Sino-Kazakh trade and economic relations; confirmed positive results of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, focused on analyzing the complementary strengths and positive factors, and noted some outstanding problems in the process of trade and economic cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.
