Utilization of foreign investment can not only solve the problem of inadequate funds that the host country facing in the economy development, but also enhance export competitiveness and accelerate industrial upgrades and optimization through the spillover effects that generated by investing. As a result, the host country’s economic get the stable and rapid development, it plays an extremely important role in the development of a country’s economic.Since the reform and opening up, China has always considered foreign direct investment as an important measure to develop domestic economy. The statistics released by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce show that between2000and2011, China’s actual use of foreign investment increased from$40,715billion in2000to$116,011billion in2011, the growth rate is184.9%. the Introduction and use of foreign direct investment can not only solve the problem of lack of funds faced by China in economic development, but also can effectively increase employment, promote technological progress and industrial upgrading, thus realizing fast, stable and healthy economic development. As an important economic and trade partner of China, Japan has always been an important source of foreign investment to China. Japanese direct investment in China began in1979, it has experienced30years of development. Specifically, Japanese direct investment in1992is relatively slow, the average annual investment is less than$80million. With China’s reform and opening degree continues to deepen, especially after China has joined the WTO in2001, China’s favorable investment environment has attracted a large number of Japanese direct investments in China, and it reached the highest level of$6.53billion in2005, accounting for10.8%of the total of China’s absorption of foreign direct investment. Except Hong Kong and the British Virgin Islands, Japan has become the first source of foreign investment. The entry of the Japanese capital provides adequate funding for the development of China’s economy, increases employment opportunities, and improves the level of technology and business management, which promote the stability and high quality of China’s economic development. Japanese direct investment plays an important role in China’s economic development.The global financial crisis broke out in2008has a serious impact on the United States itself and the whole world economy. Since Japan has close relationship with the United States in the field of finance and trade, so the deterioration of the U.S.’s finance and economic heavily influenced Japan’s. After the financial crisis, the Japanese economy and the rest of the world economy have entered a long adjustment period of economic recovery, this is the so-called post-crisis era. The new features and problems to be solved of Japanese direct investment in China in the post-crisis era are worth researching, clarify these issues and actively explore solutions have a very important significance for further promote Japanese direct investment in China and maintain the sustainable development of China’s economy.This thesis is based on the above issues, mainly analyses the relevant issues about Japanese direct investment in China in the post-crisis era. This thesis mainly includes six parts. The first chapter is the introduction. This part elaborates on the background and significance of this research and proposes the analysis methods and structure of this thesis on the basis of summary about the research fruits on Japanese direct investment in China at home and abroad. The chapter two introduces five major foreign direct investment theories in current economic filed. Chapter three reviews the five development stages of Japanese direct investment in China. Chapter four summarizes the characteristics of Japanese direct investment in the post-crisis era, including the investment status, investment motives, the area of investment, investment positions and investment entities Chapter five and six are the main parts of this paper. Chapter five detailed analyses the main problems of Japanese direct investment in China in the post-crisis era. On this basis, Chapter six puts forward some corresponding policies and recommendations to promote Japanese direct investment in China and then predict its development prospects.
