All activities of construction site is regarded as a system included production, plan, logistics and information flow. And the reasonable running of the system is very important to complete an engineering project. In all activities, site management is the most basic and most boring process.In order to formulate a set of management system that can be used to a construction site, a system similar to the construction site system and its corresponding management method are found with the system engineering’s theory. And the similar system and corresponding management method are manufacturing site management system and5S.After the similar system and corresponding management method were found,5S method was improved to adapt to the construction site according to the different points between two systems.Firstly, the construction site was divided into8parts, and every part has itself rule about5S. At same time, the idea of "classification" was used to the whole process of the5S. Secondly, based on the theory of lean management, the important data of the construction site was quantified. For example, precisely formulating every project’s weight,and each project standard of grading was determined with link relative method and AHP. In order to get a macroscopic evaluation of management, a comprehensive evaluation system was founded with fuzzy mathematics’theory. Thirdly, some factors that may affect the management effect were selected according to experience about environment, personnel quality, management system and basic facilities. Then some data sample that from other construction sites that had used5S method were collected. And all data sample were processed by the BP neural network with the help of MATLAB, and weights of those factors that may affect the management effect were sorted, and simulation of the result was completed. The result met the standard and gave a clear direction about improving the new method. According to above process, the total application process of the new method is an effective system that can improve a construction site’s management level and an example that can give some ideas about answering the problem of two similar systems’operation.
