This paper aims to explore how to use Chen Yun’s economic thought to solve therelated economic and social problems in modern China scientifically. Chen Yun, apioneer of China’s socialist economic construction, had been in charge of China’sfinancial work for years. As a result, he made a great contribution for theestablishment of new China’s economic recovery and the basic socialist economicsystem. And in the meanwhile, Chen Yun’s economic thought system, which can helpto establish steady and robust economic for China, has been formed gradually. Someeconomic thought of Chen Yun’s still has the enlightenment function on contemporaryChina’s economy. The writer of this paper tries to find the contemporaryenlightenment of Chen Yun’s economic thought by reviewing and studying hiseconomic thought. And of course, all the research work is based on the currentsituation of economic development.This paper is composed of four chapters. Theoretical basis is expatiated in thefirst chapter. Then in the2ndchapter, the developing and forming process of ChenYun’s economy thought is written. Base on this, the writer summarizes the maincontent of Chen Yun’s economic thought—the thought of placing great emphasis onagriculture, general equilibrium theory and "the cage" economic thought. In the lastchapter, parts of the contemporary enlightenment of Chen Yun’s economic thought isstudied and found based on the current economical situation in China. Chen Yun’sagricultural thought can help to solve “agriculture, countryside and farmers” issues.General equilibrium theory, to some extent, can prevent and control economic crisis.And the thought of materialist dialectics Chen Yun used to fulfill during his lifetimemay guide the work of the national economy.
