In2011, China bulk commodities turnover reached a new high, whichbreaks10trillion, increased by20%compared with last year.At the same time, transaction data shows that the boom of bulk commoditiesexchanges establishment spread gradually from cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjinto Hangzhou, Ningbo, Harbin and Shaoxing. The emergence of bulk commoditiesexchanges is of great importance to the improvement of traditional spot commoditiesmarket, the promotion of commodities circulation, the avoidance of risk prices and therealization of commodities price discovery.In such context, this paper studied both the necessity and feasibility of Zhejiangprovince electronic bulk commodities trading platform construction, for whichsuggestions have also been given.Because of the short developing time, few mature systems can be used asreference about development of electronic bulk commodities in China. This papertakes parts of earlier bulk commodity markets as examples, uses comparative analysisto demonstrate, through collecting main bulk commodities transaction data indifferent areas, the feasibility of electronic bulk commodities platform construction inZhejiang province. Due to a wide variety kinds of bulk commodities, We only selectpetrochemical products, one of the most representative commodities, as a caseexample.Finally, based on the above two studies, we make conclusions and givesuggestion about the construction of electronic bulk commodities trading platform in Zhejiang Province.
