A Study On The Development Of Village Bank--Based On The Case Study Of The Village Bank Of Sheyang County Taishang Village In Jiangsu Province

In recent years, with the deep reform of the rural finance and the increasing favor of supporting agriculture, In order to implement the spirit of Central Committee on rural financial reform, China Banking Regulatory Commission carried out a new financial institutions named "village banks", and it began to launch a pilot project in six provinces of China in2007.But in the past six years, the problems of weak competitiveness, insufficient sustainable development capacity were exposed in actual operation. This paper takes Jiangsu Sheyang Taishang Rural Bank as angle of view to analyze the problems and the causes of problems in the development of village banks and try to give the suggestions on the basis of absorbing practical experience of the Grameen Bank. We hope that village banks can develop well and activate the rural financial market, and achieve the aim of serving for" agriculture, village, and farmers "This paper adopts the methods of empirical analysis and comparative analysis to raise and solve problems from both macro-and micro-aspects. First, it elaborates the policy background, specific system arrangement as well as the significance and development of rural bank status from a macro point of view. Second, on a macroscopic level, this paper uses the case analysis method, discusses the corresponding system arrangement and operation situation of Jiangsu Sheyang Taishang Rural Banks. By comparing with other financial institutions in rural areas, it summarizes the running characteristics of village banks and the existing problems in the development of village banks, and analyzes the causes of problems through combining with actual situation. At last, this paper puts forward suggestions on the sustainable development of village banks on the basis of the experience of Grameen Bank.
