As the anisotropic material is widely used in microwave devices, the analysis ofthe transmission characteristics in anisotropic dielectric waveguide is of importanttheoretical and practical significance. There will be a lot of new features in photoniccrystal containing left-handed materials. These features have important applications inpractice, and become one of the hot issues in research. The transmission characteristics of waveguide with anisotropic medium andphotonic crystal containing left-handed materials are analyzed and calculated basedon the symplectic system. The main contributions are as follows.(1) The transmission characteristics of rectangular waveguide with anisotropicmedium are studied under the symplectic system using the precise integration. Theeffect of permittivity tensor and permeability tensor to waveguide transmissioncharacteristics are also discussed. The waveguide is divided into several sections according to the longitudinal. Thefinite element method is used to discrete the cross-section. The precise integrationmethod is used to get the export stiffness matrix of each section along the longitudinal, and each of the export stiffness matrixes is assembled to solve the problem. Thisthesis transfers the study of isotropic problems to the anisotropic problem. Thealgorithm is verified through isotropic problem. The results show that this method isaccurate and efficient. The influence of permittivity tensor and permeability tensor ofanisotropic materials on the waveguide transmission characteristics are analyzed indetail.(2) The transmission properties of photonic crystals containing left-handedmaterials are analyzed under the symplectic system using the precise integration. Theinfluence of the number of cycles, the refractive index ratio and incident angle arediscussed. The effect of impurities on transmission property of photonic crystals isalso studied. The process of calculating the transmission characteristics of photonic crystals isdeduced in detail under symplectic system and a program is programmed. The methodnot only applies to right-handed materials, but also suitable for left-handed materials. The effect of the number of cycles, the refractive index ratio and incident angle on thetransmission characteristics of photonic crystals is discussed, and the precision of calculation results is judged by the conservation of energy. We provide an effectiveanalysis method for the analysis of all kinds of photonic crystals.(3) The analysis software based on Matlab is designed for analyzing thetransmission characteristics of photonic crystals. On the basis of theoretical analysis and numerical calculation, the analysis softwareis designed in programming. Users can write parameters on the graphical interfaceand calculate the transmission properties of many kinds of photonic crystals. Theresults are displayed in the form of images. The software is convenient and efficient toanalyze the transmission properties of photonic crystals. The whole system is friendlyand open. The interface can meet different needs of users. It is convenient for thestudy of photonic crystals. As anisotropic materials and the application of photonic crystals containingleft-handed materials are widely used in microwave transmission, it is important tostudy the transmission characteristics for both to provide theoretical support for thedesign of the electronic components. We also provide an effective research method forsolving the problem.
