Comprehensive Protection And Research On HEMP Of Shielding Facilities

The high-tech war under the condition of information is the main form of modernwar, the C4ISR system (Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Intelligence,Surveillance, Reconnaissance system) which composed of electronic equipment is acritical factor of the war. Because of the strong destructive effect to electronicequipment, HEMP (High-altitude nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse) is known as “thesecond atomic bomb”. Therefore, the protection ability of HEMP affects the process andthe outcome of the war.According to HEMP, the generation mechanism, the waveform characteristics, theenvironmental effects are studied in this paper. The coupling ways of HEMP areanalyzed, aimed at the concrete buildings, electromagnetic shielding cabins andprotection engineering, the comprehensive protection which including shielding andconduction protection is researched.Based on the propagation principle of electromagnetic wave, the propagation ofHEMP through the vegetation and the calculation method of propagation attenuation isdeduced, the propagation of HEMP on the earth is analyzed, and the calculation methodof the field strength by the depth variation. The propagation law that the field strengthof HEMP on the earth has no direct relationship with the conductivity, permittivity andincident angle is obtained by simulation.Based on the theory of transmission line, combined with the effect of plane wavethrough a shield, the shielding effectiveness of reinforced mesh structure in reinforcedconcrete to HEMP is calculated.Finally, the proposed military electromagnetic shielding cabin is validated toensure the rationality of engineering protection. The protection engineering model isbuilt and the attenuation of the vegetation, soil and reinforced concrete is calculated tomeet the requirement of the practical protection.
