The object of this thesis is mobile photogrammetric mapping system. One main point of thisthesis is to find a method of testing the positioning and orientation accuracy of POS. And theother is to try a way of determining placement parameters of the industrial camera with referenceto the POS frame using the outdoor high precision calibration field. This thesis gives a briefdescription of the development and principle of MMS, derives a new model conductingtransformation of coordinate systems, comes up with a new method of testing positioning andorientation accuracy of POS, and a way of determining camera’s placement parameters, andverifies their effectiveness. The specific work is as follows:1.Introduces development of mobile mapping system and research status, describes thecomposition of mobile mapping system as well as the measuring principle, summarizes maincoordinate systems and also the transformation between each other involved in the principle ofmobile photogrammetric mapping system;2.Proposes an8-parameter coordinate system transformation model on the base of a newkind of rotation matrix and detailed LS adjustment process is also present. It is verified that thenew model could guarantee a relatively rapid workflow losing no precision, with benefit of aneasy way of determining the parameter approximations, resulting in less iterations.3.Comes up with a new method of testing positioning and orientation accuracy of POSusing high precision laser tracker. In more words, in this method, laser tracker measures pointsfixed on the vehicle when the vehicle is at different spots and orientations, in their WGS84coordinates.4.Accuracy of POS is tested in2ways. In one way, new WGS84coordinates are figuredout with fixed points’ POS frame coordinates and POS’s positions and orientations and then usedtesting POS positioning accuracy in comparison with measured WGS84coordinates. In the otherway, new positions and orientations are figured out with fixed points’ POS frame coordinates andmeasured WGS84coordinates, and then used testing POS positioning accuracy in comparisonwith POS’s positions and orientations. At last, a brief analysis is carried out.
