With the rapidly developing of social economy, the quicken progress of social industrialization, the increasing of residents’living standard, the demand for industrial products is growing, the technical requirements are more strict, and we must use a variety of processes and raw materials, so we have to exploit much more groundwater, bringing a series water environment of increasingly prominent problems such as the sharp dropping of groundwater level, the significant reduce of groundwater yield, and the serious pollution of groundwater quality, which deeply restrict the harmony and the sustainable development of the groundwater environment and then may cause some adverse effects on people’s normal life, social stability, economic prosperity and so on.Shanxi new stone coal coking and coal chemical industry’s capacity replacement project are in the circular economy industrial park which is located in the west of Guoyang town and the Midwest of Yangou town in Shanxi Yuanping, which construct2million t/a flagshiping coke and Coalchemical circular economy industrial project. The paper mainly talks that by using Visual Modleflow, a software to numerical simulate the groundwater, we can predict the effect on groundwater when the new stone coal coking plant runs. The progress of research is establishing hydrogeological conceptual model which matching the projects’ underground water deposits and corresponding mathematical model, and make sure the initial flow field on the basis of collecting enough data such as water resources, geology, hydrogeology, clearing up the hydrogeological conditions around the plant, as well as doing the field test, and using Visual Modleflow simulate the effect on the groundwater in the coking plant and its surrounding; at the same time, carrying on the numerical simulation for the groundwater pollutants migration situation and qualitatively and quantitatively analyzing to predict the influences on the surrounding groundwater including water quantity and water quality, which provide some practical reference basis for protecting the groundwater around the plant, and it has importantly practical significance on the surrounding people’s normal life, social stability and the sustainable development of environment.According to the results of the numerical simulation, we can get the following conclusions:(1)The longer the time of exploiting groundwater, the deeper the groundwater level, then the depression cone of groundwater gradually expands outward, which will strengthen the influence of groundwater.(2)The results of water simulation suggest that, when exploiting groundwater, the coking plant may influence the wells around the factory, and then influence the surrounding residents’normal life.(3)When the instantaneous point source pollutants get into the groundwater, they will drift along the flow of water, spread to all around at the same time, and their shape will gradually become from round to oval, the concentration will reduce from center to outside. Also, the longer the time of pollutants drifting, the larger the scope of diffusion, as a whole the concentration is falling and finally falls into the groundwater standards.(4)The instantaneous point source pollutants contain ammonia water and crude benzene, the prediction of simulation is that because the original values are different from ammonia water’s when they get into the groundwater, the influence of the leakage of crude benzene on groundwater quality is greater than the ammonia water’s.(5)As for the continuous point source pollutants, with time going, the scope of diffusion become larger, the shape gradually become from round to oval, the concentration reduces from center to outside, on the contrary the overall concentration is continually increasing.(6)The continuous point source pollutants are waste water, the prediction of simulation is that sewage leakage has little effect on groundwater; the cause of this phenomenon may be the increasing range is small when the concentration of pollutants is in groundwater.
