The Atmospheric Boundary Layer(ABL) is defined by the free atmosphere which is significantly influenced by the surface of the earth. In the ABL the airflow turbulivity is high, temperature layer section is not stable and showed obvious diurnal variation characteristics, human activity are carried out within the boundary layer, the detection and study of it do a good job to prevent air pollution and weather forecast. Modern remote sensing equipments include radars and satellites, to obtain the intensive meteorological data is the premise of ABL research. The radiosonde can collect and send the data from the air to ground when it get through the air, it is very important way to detect the atmospheric.Detection of boundary layer is mainly low altitude detection, using the traditional radiosonde to detect the ABL has some limitations, for the need of low altitude detection we use the short distance wireless communication technology(ZigBee) to develop a new kind of radiosonde which is lightweight and compact. The whole system consists of two parts:transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal, wherein the transmitting terminal comprises a single (multiple) data acquisition and transmitting node, each node include a CC2530chip and some meteorological sensors; The receive terminal consists of a CC2530chip and serial communication circuit, which is responsible for receiving and transmitting data. The communication between sending end and receive end is achieved by the ZigBee protocol, the protocol supports low power, low data rate, short distance communication, the biggest feature of ZigBee is able to build networks between devices. This paper focus on sensor data acquisition, the analysis of ZigBee protocol stack and the realization of network, this paper is divided into6chapters, each chapter is as follows:The first chapter introduces the characteristics of the ABL and the current situation of boundary layer detection. The second chapter mainly introduces the concept of ZigBee technology and the network characteristics. The third introduces the hardware design of the data transmitting end and receiving end of the radiosonde. The fourth chapter describes the wireless communication software debugging. The fifth chapter comparing the radiosonde with the kind of market design. The sixth chapter is the summary and outlook of the design.
