With increasing of the world’s population and development of the social economic, a water crisis has become the main problems that restricted economic development of all countries. Because of large exploitable capacity, seawater desalination can become an effective way that supply fresh water of the long-term. The conventional desalination use lots of energy, cost is higher. In order to extent seawater desalination in large area, we have to reduce energy consumption and increase fresh water yield. Not only is LT-MED less energy consumption, water production higher; solar heating reduced the cost of fresh water production greatly, so the research of solar energy LT-MED has important significance to the social and economic progress.In this paper, the four effects of tower type solar desalination unit was carried out the experimental research and theoretical analysis, through to test survey and the analysis of the unit in the electric heating simulation, we can get the relation about heat and mass transfer, and analysis the flow of hot water, heating temperature, PR parameters, intracavity pressure of every effect, starting pressure, fresh water production, different heating water flow, cooling water temperature and the cavity temperature of every effect between them, at the same time we can analyse and explain them. It has important significance to the further study of LT-MED.Through the measuring of the solar heating system and Nanning solar radiation, it got a deep cognition for the combination of the low temperature temperature water desalination and the solar energy. At the same time for electrical heating and solar heating two patterns low temperature multi-effect seawater desalination the system economics are analyzed and the driver in the solar energy four tower desalination options effect production cost is better than electrical heating mode. For LT-MED device structure and application fields of exploration expliciting this technology to the future society has an important significance for the economic development.
