The construction of national spatial data infrastructure is an important reflection of thenational economic and social overall information level. It is also the main task of thesurveying and mapping industry at present. The core mission of National spatial datainfrastructure is to build the national fundamental geographic information database, which canbe represented by4D products. These data need a great deal of human and material resourcesto maintain. Spatial data and map are two kinds of important products in fundamentalgeographic information system. They share the same nature, in fact, they use different abstractmethods to represent the same special elements. For many years, the integration of spatialdata and map has been a hot issue in geographic information field. Now the industry has adeeper view of this kind of integration. People have done a lot of research on the productionprocess of these two kinds of data, data integration model and its application. Many a time,the existing spatial data and map is a repetitive product of the same target area,this patternnot only costs huge of human resources and material resources, but Cause a large amount ofredundant data. Shannxi Administration of Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation togetherwith Chang’an University proposed the digital line graphs and map, which is a softwareindependent. This product can produce the spatial data and map at the same time, and keepthe correlation and consistency between the two kinds of data. This product is of greatsignificant to the development of national spatial data infrastructure. In this paper, theproduction technology and production process of digital line graphs and map are mainlytalked.Digital line graphs and map product is based on the topology map model theory. It is avector dataset of topographic map elements, at the same time, it saves the spatial relationshipsbetween elements, elements’ attribute information, and the map data. In this product, theelements’ geometry and attributes belong to the spatial data, while the symbols collection isthe map. Based on the same data model, the two kinds of data can refer to each other, expressthe geographic feature reasonably, simplify the production process, and reduce the producinglinks. The spatial data visualization of this product is map expression mechanism. The spatialdata and the cartographic symbol data have a certain relevance. They are also independent,which means symbol editing will not affect the precision of its spatial data. According to thecharacteristics of the digital line graphs and map, this thesis discusses the production process,including the integration production template, the entity structure technology, the geometric structure technology and the craft of map construction process. After that, this paper makes acomparison between this process with the traditional process in aspect of efficiency andquality. Further more, it verifies the production technology of digital line graphs and map byprocessing the1:10000data on the digital line graphs and map platform.This paper mainly aimed at the production of digital line graphs and map, and did a seriesof work on the aspect of data model, production process, the craft of production process andapplication practice, verified the efficiency and quality of its construction technology anddrawing technology, which proved the high efficiency and practical value of digital linegraphs and map.
