Yangtze River Three Gorges Reservoir Area is located in the transitional zone betweenthe second step and the third step of Chinese topography,which crosses the Chuandong PingXing Ling-gu hilly area and Zhongshan canyon low area of Sichuan and Hubei,with thecomplex natural geological conditions,heavy rains,and frequent floods. It is one of the areaswith the high-prone geological disasters in our country. Fengjie county is one of the areaswith the high-prone geological disasters in Yangtze River Three Gorges Reservoir Area.Daping III Landslide is the present of the road tunnel slope,which poses a serious threat tothe highway from Fengjie to Wuxi which is being building now;for instance,this impacts thesafety of the passing vehicles and pedestrians,and it poses the great impact to the wholesociety. Therefore,the comprehensive management for it has become essential and urgent.Based on the detailed research and survey for the Geological environment of forming thelandslide and the characteristics of the landslide, it begins with the analysis on thecomprehensive geologic and it analyses on the genetic mechanism,inducing factors and theinstability mechanism of this landside penetratively and systematically by adopting various ofsurvey methods. Since the analysis on the landslide stability is impacted by many factors,thetraditional equilibrium method has certain limitations;therefore,taking the heterogeneity ofthe landslide itself and the randomness and variability for confirming the landslide parameterinto consideration,based on Monte-Carlo method,this paper mainly studies the stability oflandslide from the angle of probability combing the simplified Bishop method. In this way,this analysis is reliable,and it describes the safety degree of the landslide quantitatively;meanwhile,the primary study for the landslide preventive measures is conducted as per thisevidence.The following conclusions are obtained through this study:(1)Based on the analysis on the perspectives of topography,lithology,slope structure,hydrogeological conditions,deformation and failure characteristics of the landslide,it can beobtained that Daping III landslide is medium towed engineering resurrected ancient landslide,which consists of the upper landslide and the lower landslide; (2)This paper analysis on the engineering geological conditions characteristics and thecomposition structure characteristics of Daping III landslide;meanwhile,the various of thetesting measures are adopted to obtain the physical and mechanical properties of the rockmass of the landslide.(3)This paper analysis on the stability of Daping III landslide through the qualitativeand quantitative methods;analysis on the entire stability of the landslide by using the terrainand topography comparative method;meanwhile,it evaluates the stability of the upper andlower landslides of Daping III landslide by using the limit equilibrium method.(4)Based on Monte-Carlo method and combined with the simplified Bishop method,it obtains the reliability index of the upper and lower landslides by studying the stability of thelandslide from the angle of probability;meanwhile,it obtains the reliability index of thelandslid in the working conditions of natural state and the saturated state respectively.(5)According to the field survey and analysis,the road passes through the upperlandslide in front of it in tunnel form,and the entrance of it locates in the landslide body.Since the construction for the tunnel forms the excavation at the entrance area,this mayinduce the partial resurrection of the landslide or form the new engineering landslide,whichwill impact the safety and the formal using of the tunnel;the lower landslide may resurrectwith instability due to the impact of the bank rebuilding and water level fluctuation.Therefore,this has a certain impact on the route safety. It is proposed to adopt the anti-slidepile and slope drainage,etc. And other comprehensive control treatments.
