The map becomes an essential tool for daily life for its function of loading, delivering and illustrating of geographic information. Along with the development of society and technology, the craft of cartography has improved continually to meet the requirements of people’s sense of aestheticism. The concept of aesthetics of maps has been introduced into cartography for a few years, for the color information is the quickest and the most shocking element in the process of people’s visual perception and impression, more and more cartographer take the color-design in cartography into consideration. However, although a lot of experts have certain research about map’s color in many fields so far, there still have some specific problems in the specific quantification research in cartography yet to be solved. So, it is very valuable and meaningful to adopt a new way to aid the computer mapping. How to make the work of map’s color-blending which based on the experience to be described as some theory with ration and feasibility, is an urgent issue to work out. However, although a lot of experts have certain research about map’s color in many fields so far, they all studied from the macroscopic aspects, not deeply research the map’s color in a hand.Based on this, the paper used the Hubei Province as the base map, the population in2010as statistics data, to draw the thematic map with the theory of color-harmony and different classification statistical form. After that, evaluating the extent of the blending results with Moon P and Spencer D E’s methods of aesthetic assess. Meanwhile, to design a visual experiment to prove the result of above work could meet the requirement of people for their aesthetic demand. Based on the work above, design an optimizing method of color-harmony and prove its feasibility. This paper aims to introduce a blending method with ration based on the theory of color-harmony that can be used in cartography. All the research can apply a practical way to improve the function of CAC.
