Now, most urban Public Transport System could provide people with appropriate publictransport information services, which address some difficulties of selecting bus routes ontravel. However, since the map company, bus service and other departments could not providecomplete bus information, travel time of vehicles and passengers can not be accuratelypredicted, and then fast travel requirements of users could not be meet. Therefore, researchand Implementation of the bus line data acquisition system has more important significance inorder to achieve space-time data collection of vehicles travel information and site.After analysing domestic and external Public Transport System, the bus lines dataacquisition system based on GIS has been designed and implemented. The acquisitionprograms based on Windows Mobile platform has been developed and deployed to a smartdevice, which can be used to collect real-time GPS latitude and longitude of bus stations byGPS location function, space-time data, site name, line name and other relevant geographicinformation. It will generate a lot of redundant data by using the GPS terminal to collecttransit site data, due to differences in the location of the same name site and the existing GPSsystem deviation. Therefore an improved K-means clustering algorithm was proposed, whichwas applied into clustering analysis of transit data. Bus lines and site information etc has beendisplayed on Maps by combining transit data and Google Maps, calling Google Maps APIthrough the Javascript language on the client.That come true the user need of bus informationbrowsing and management, better reflect the geographic distribution of public transportationinformation.Ultimately,the system as a collection platform of providing public transport informationservice will slove the source problem of public transportation information by timely collectingand updating time and location information of transportation. It can improve theinformatization level of bus service, perfect the function of Public Transport System, and thusprovide accurate, timely and optimal public transport information services for passengers onbus travel.
