Oil resources take the first place in the world’s energy structure. It is the most important aspectof energy development. Ordinarily, oil resources exploitation is done on land, but now more andmore oil companies turn their eyes to the marine oil and gas resources. With the manufacturingtechnology of deepwater pipe-laying ship becoming mature gradually, oil corporations on the worldmarch towards deepwater resources one after another, more than50countries have begun deep seaexploration at present. Subsea pipelines are the special tools for marine oil and gas transportation,and whether pipeline laying work can be finished effectively is the key to get oil resources.Therefore, obtaining the pipeline laying work state in real time is one of the critical parts duringmarine oil exploitation.The paper designs a set of stinger video monitoring system on deepwater pipe-laying shiphereby, aiming at improving the efficiency of pipe-laying work, thus getting oil resourceseffectively. Besides monitoring the work state in real time and all comprehension, the system alsodesigns a set of power-supply system and upper computer software.The task in the paper mainly includes the following parts: setup of remote video informationtransmission, design of power-supply system, design of protocol conversion, upper software on PCmonitoring platform and system debugging.Remote video information transmission takes fiber optic transmission as its means to fulfill theintention.Power-supply system includes power-supply module, RS-485Hub module and LEDlight-control module. These three modules are integrated in a box, leading out interfaces for staff’susing, making the operation speedy.Here puts forwads two methods of protocol conversion: protocol conversion based on MCUand protocol conversion based on DVR embedded Linux system. By comparing and verification,the former one is much more suitable for practical application, and the latter, although has somelimitations in present, it is meaningful for improving system performance and stabling the system inthe long term. So the paper put both these two methods into researching and designing.Upper software on PC monitoring platform comes true the collection of image information andcontrol to monitoring equipment, thus making the system more flexible.System debugging is comprised of scene debugging and lab debugging. Protocol conversion based on MCU mainly used in a project and protocol conversion based on DVR embedded Linuxsystem is debugged in lab. Practical conduction has proved the stinger video monitoring system ondeepwater pipe-laying ship designed in this paper meet the expected system requirements.In the end, the paper concludes the task in the system, pointing the insufficient and improvingpoints, analyzing them and suggesting relevant solutions. The paper prospects the next researchdirection at the same time.
