Our countrys "rich coal, poor oil, less gas" resource structure leads coal to be still the most primary source of energy in a considerably long period of time. To achieve higher efficient and clean use of coal resources is the main way to solve our energy problems currently. The co-production which is the combination of IGCC and coal chemical products can not only have a higher yield of efficiency and economy, but also can avoid or reduce the limit of the problem of IGCC. Therefore, co-production technology is the main driving force to promote the development of IGCC technology.Pinch Technology is the process optimization method that based on the whole system and has been widely used in the field of chemical industry. In this paper, Aspen software and Thermoflow software are used to build methanol chemical side and dynamic side model of IGCC co-production methanol respectively, and pinch technology is used to do the energy saving optimization analysis for the IGCC co-production methanol system. Unreasonable energy use and improvement measures are presented after the pinch analysis and have a good energy saving effect. This paper made analysis and evaluation for IGCC co-production methanol system from three aspects of energy use, economic and environmental benefits.We can get that Polygeneration system can effectively improve the system thermal efficiency and exergy efficiency. After calculating the system investment cost and the cost of methanol we got that methanol have a low cost with lower coal prices and methanol profit advantage fall gradually along with the prices rise of coal. And IGCC co-production methanol system has a good environmental benefits; Natural gas is one of China’s energy shortage resources. This paper also analyzes the two IGCC co-production natural gas system process and these system characteristics. IGCC co-production natural gas system is flexible and can effectively improve energy efficiency. Through the economic analysis of IGCC co-production natural gas system we can get that the changes in natural gas costs greatly influenced by the price of coal. Although the IGCC co-production natural gas price advantage is not obvious, it provides an important safeguard for the safety of China’s energy strategy.
