Research On Key Technologies For Software System Of Wire-Cut Electrical Discharge Machining

With years of development,Wire-Cut Electrical Discharge Machining(WEDM) hashad a quite mature control system; However,the PC software control is stilll in preliminaryresearch phase. This paper proposed an integrated CAM_CNC software system forWEDM based on DXF,which can run in Windows system,read DXF directly and convertDXF to NC code used for WEDM automaticly.This system was developed on Visual C++6.0platform. The following aspects aredetailed in this paper: reading DXF,figure elements storage&display,entities chain’spre_processing,process parameters settings, migration track calculation, formation of NCcode,simulation&communication,etc. The research content and innovation points are asfollows:(1)According to DXF’s format,this system extracted all the graphical information(especially polylines),displayed them real-time by CDC functions,established data nodesand entities chain to storage all the figure elements,reconstruction&directiondiscrimination of the entities chain by triangle vector method;(2)Pre_processing,which includes processing track migration,connecting typediscrimination,modification entity geometry information,etc. Based on angles, a judgmentmethod of connecting type with expanding range and a new method of calculatinginflection points were proposed. Because of avoiding the traditional calculation methodsand multifarious discussion,this method has many advantages,such as simplecalculation,wide using range,no discussions,etc;(3)After setting the processing parameters,according to the format of3B&G code,thesystem completed conversion to NC code.A reliable,complete conversion method and amethod of counting length calculation was proposed in this paper;(4)Simulation&communication.This system can read NC code,carry on the reversetranslation,realize simulation of processing by MFC timer and drawing functions.MSCOMM was transplanted into this system to realize serial communication betweenupper and down machines.
